Senior Planner - Brisbane

Due to continued growth of Currie & Brown in Queensland, we are looking for a confident SENIOR PLANNER with 8 years + experience to join our successful team.

Candidates will be expected to possess knowledge and skills attained during your previous work experience as a Scheduler / Planner / QS / Engineer or relevant experience within the oil & gas / consultancy and/or engineering industry.

Oil & Gas experience is desirable.

To be considered for the role you will require the following skills:

  • Liaise with client and review the project execution methodology developed or adopted by the client.
  • Identify key stage approval gates.
  • Set-up the Portfolio Schedule.
  • Set-up the resource pool for both Engineering and Construction
  • Create Project templates for each project size and type with appropriate stage gates and logic. This logic must include the client’s contract validation process and follow the industry standard logic for each discipline including the purchase of equipment and the vendor data impacts on engineering discipline activities. Approvals to start construction and the logic required to physically construct the project. Project closeout, handover and commissioning.
  • Define the project documentation required for reference to create a project schedule.

For Example :

    • Project execution plan or Scope document
    • Procurement strategy
    • Preliminary Cost Estimate
    • PFD’s or P&ID’s
    • Plot plans
    • General Arrangements if available
    • Process Description.
  • Use specialist scheduling software to develop the project schedule.
  • Create and review logic as appropriate for the project.
  • Generate project “S” Curves.
  • Generate Project Man-hour Histograms.
  • Generate Departmental Man-Hour Histograms.
  • Update the schedule as agreed with the client
  • Review and report on any schedule impacts or delays to the schedule to the client. Include changes to the project scope / variations and analyse the time impact of these, recommend action required to resolve potential delays etc.
  • Assist Project Management in the compilation of progress reports.

 

You must possess strong experience at Planning level, the ability to develop and build business relationships and be confident in implementing business and/or project plans.

Also required are:

  • Qualifications in Scheduling, Project Management; Engineering or equivalent desirable
  • Detailed working knowledge of scheduling programs, specifically Microsoft Project and Primavera P3E/P6 or equivalent desirable
  • Detailed working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
