AMEC acquires Currie & Brown (Australia)
London, United Kingdom (29 January 2010) – AMEC, the international engineering and project management company, announces the acquisition of Currie & Brown (Australia) Pty Ltd, a leading Australian cost and commercial management consultancy from its shareholders for AU$36.4 million in cash.
Currie & Brown (Australia) is a provider of independent cost, contract and consulting services to the oil and gas, mining, building, transport, utilities and infrastructure sectors, with an excellent track record of success and high levels of repeat business for major regional and global customers. Its services include engineering cost management and cost engineering, programming and scheduling services, contractual advice and dispute resolution, technical cost and scope auditing, facilities management consulting and quantity surveying and building cost management. The company has some 200 professional employees. It is headquartered in Brisbane and has offices in Adelaide, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.
The acquisition is fully aligned with AMEC’s Vision 2015 strategy of assured growth through a strengthened geographic footprint and enhanced capabilities in key sectors.
